1. Overview

TiwaVerse provides digital content, social engagement, and e-commerce tools that allow users to connect, create, and earn. This Payments & Fees Disclosure explains how payments are processed, what fees may apply, and how creators and sellers receive payouts.

By using any paid or monetized feature of TiwaVerse, you agree to this disclosure, our Terms of Service, and Refund Policy.

2. Payment Processors

TiwaVerse does not directly process payments. All transactions are handled by licensed third-party payment processors:

  • Flutterwave (Nigeria): Handles payments and payouts for users within Nigeria, in Nigerian Naira (₦).
  • Stripe Payments UK Ltd.: Handles payments from international users in supported currencies and is regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

Both providers comply with PCI-DSS and other applicable financial data security standards. TiwaVerse does not store or access full card details.

3. Supported Currencies

TiwaVerse primarily operates in Nigerian Naira (₦). For international transactions processed via Stripe, other currencies such as USD, GBP, and EUR may be accepted. Exchange rates are determined by the payment processors and/or user’s financial institution at the time of transaction.

4. Platform & Transaction Fees

Standard transaction fees may be charged by our payment partners. These are automatically deducted from payments before completion. Below is an overview of typical fees (subject to change by the processors):

  • Flutterwave: ~1.4% per transaction (Nigeria-based, capped at ₦2,000 for local cards).
  • Stripe: 2.9% + £0.30 or equivalent in foreign currency per successful charge.
  • Cross-border/FX Fees: May apply for international card transactions or currency conversions.

These rates are indicative and may vary depending on your location, card type, and payment method.

5. TiwaVerse Service Fees & Commissions

TiwaVerse may charge small commissions or service fees on certain monetized activities to support platform operations and creator services.

  • Digital Product Sales (TiwaMart): TiwaVerse may retain up to 10% commission per successful sale.
  • Creator Tips / Donations: TiwaVerse may retain up to 5% platform fee per tip transaction.
  • Premium Services & Ads: Custom or promotional features may have separate fees displayed at checkout.

All commissions and fees are transparently displayed before transaction confirmation where applicable.

6. TiwaPoints Rewards Payouts

TiwaPoints represent engagement-based rewards. They are calculated based on user activity and converted to a Naira equivalent monthly. Payouts are made to verified Nigerian bank accounts via Flutterwave.

  • Payout frequency: Monthly, subject to eligibility and verification.
  • Payout currency: Nigerian Naira (₦) only.
  • Conversion rate: Determined by TiwaVerse based on engagement pool and platform metrics.
  • No additional withdrawal fees are charged by TiwaVerse, though bank or gateway fees may apply.

7. Taxes

Users are responsible for reporting and paying any applicable taxes on income earned through TiwaVerse (e.g., TiwaPoints payouts, sales, or tips). TiwaVerse may withhold or report payments to tax authorities as required by Nigerian or international law.

8. Refunds & Reversals

Refunds for failed or duplicate transactions are handled according to our Refund Policy and the payment processors’ respective rules. TiwaVerse does not directly issue refunds but facilitates the process via Flutterwave or Stripe upon verified claim.

9. Dispute Resolution

If you believe a charge or payout was processed incorrectly, please contact our billing team at billing@tiwaverse.com. We aim to review all disputes within 7 business days in collaboration with our payment processors.
