We collect information to deliver, improve, and personalize your TiwaVerse experience. This includes:

  • Account Information: Name, username, email, phone number, date of birth, profile picture, bio, and preferences.
  • Verification (KYC): Government-issued ID, BVN, or bank details for identity verification and payout compliance.
  • Content & Activity: Posts, comments, reactions, videos, audio, events, and engagement metrics used for TiwaPoints rewards.
  • Payment Information: Payment methods and transaction details processed securely by Flutterwave (for NG users) and Stripe (for international users). TiwaVerse does not store full card or bank details.
  • Technical Data: Device type, browser, IP address, location (if enabled), log files, cookies, and analytics data.
  • Communications: Messages, feedback, and customer support correspondence.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To operate, maintain, and improve TiwaVerse features and functionality.
  • To process payments and transactions securely via licensed payment processors.
  • To calculate, track, and issue TiwaPoints rewards and monthly payouts to eligible users.
  • To verify user identity (KYC), prevent fraud, and comply with anti–money laundering regulations.
  • To send account-related notifications, updates, and security alerts.
  • To personalize your experience, recommendations, and content feed.
  • To comply with applicable Nigerian, UK, and international data protection laws.

4. TiwaPoints Rewards & Payout Data

We collect and process data related to your in-app engagement (likes, comments, content creation, etc.) to calculate your TiwaPoints balance. When eligible for monthly payout, we may collect additional information including your bank account details, identity verification data, and activity validation logs. This data is used solely for reward administration, fraud prevention, and payout processing.

All payouts are made to verified Nigerian bank accounts in Naira (₦). TiwaVerse does not store funds or operate user wallets.

5. Payment Processing & Third-Party Services

All payments, tips, and purchases on TiwaVerse are processed via third-party partners:

  • Flutterwave: For users and transactions in Nigeria.
  • Stripe Payments UK Ltd.: For users outside Nigeria, regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

These processors comply with PCI-DSS and other financial data protection standards. TiwaVerse does not access or store your full payment card or account data. By using these services, you also agree to their respective privacy policies.

6. How We Share Information

We share information only as necessary to operate our services:

  • With your consent or at your direction.
  • With payment processors (Flutterwave, Stripe) to facilitate transactions and payouts.
  • With service providers who support infrastructure, analytics, customer service, or KYC verification.
  • To comply with legal obligations or respond to lawful requests by public authorities.
  • During a business transfer (e.g., merger or acquisition) subject to this Policy’s protections.

We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for legitimate business purposes, compliance, and security:

  • Account and activity data — retained while your account is active.
  • KYC and payout data — retained for up to 5 years to comply with legal and financial regulations.
  • Communications and logs — retained as required for dispute resolution and security.
  • Deleted accounts — data is anonymized or permanently erased within 60 days unless required by law.

8. Data Security

We use encryption, access controls, and secure servers to protect your information. Sensitive data is transmitted via SSL and stored using industry-grade encryption. While we take all reasonable measures, no online service is 100% secure, and you use TiwaVerse at your own risk.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location and applicable laws (e.g., NDPR, GDPR), you have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal data.
  • Withdraw consent to data processing.
  • Request a copy of your data in portable format.
  • Opt out of marketing or analytics tracking.

10. International Data Transfers

TiwaVerse may transfer and process your information between Nigeria, the United Kingdom, and other regions where our partners operate. We ensure that such transfers comply with applicable data protection laws, including NDPR and GDPR, through the use of standard contractual clauses and secure transfer protocols.

11. Children’s Privacy

TiwaVerse is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. For minors aged 13–17, parental consent may be required for certain features. Parents may contact us to review or delete their child’s data.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The latest version will always be available on this page, with the “Last Updated” date above. Continued use of TiwaVerse after updates indicates your acceptance of the revised Policy.
