1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using TiwaVerse (“TiwaVerse”, “the Platform”, “we”, “our”, or “us”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

2. Service Description

TiwaVerse is a social platform for the Nigerian community and African diaspora. Core features include social networking and messaging, community groups, events (Owanbe), voice posts, dating (TiwaDate), e-commerce listings and purchases (TiwaMart), digital assets (e.g., stickers/awards), and payments for permitted products and services.

3. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use TiwaVerse.
  • Users under 18 require parental consent; TiwaDate and payment features require users to be 18+.
  • You agree to provide accurate information and maintain only one personal account.
  • You are responsible for compliance with all applicable laws where you use the Platform.

4. Account Registration & Security

  • Keep your login credentials secure and enable available security controls (e.g., 2FA).
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access or suspected breach.
  • We may request identity verification (KYC) where legally required (e.g., for payouts).

5. Acceptable Use

You may not use the Platform for unlawful, harmful, misleading, infringing, or exploitative activity. Prohibited content includes hate speech, harassment, explicit sexual content, threats, and malicious code. Prohibited behavior includes spam, impersonation, evading moderation, or attempting to circumvent security. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines.

6. User Content & IP

You retain ownership of content you post. By posting, you grant TiwaVerse a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, adapt, publish, and display such content for operation and promotion of the Platform. You represent that you have the necessary rights to post the content and that it does not infringe third-party rights.

7. Payments & Payment Processing

Payments on TiwaVerse are processed by third-party providers. For users in Nigeria, payments are typically processed by Flutterwave (a licensed payment service provider in Nigeria). For international users, payments are typically processed by Stripe Payments UK, Ltd. (regulated by the UK Financial Conduct Authority). TiwaVerse does not collect or store full payment card details. Availability of specific payment methods, currencies, and features may vary by location and provider.

Fees charged by payment processors or financial institutions (including currency conversion and FX fees) are your responsibility unless we state otherwise. Refunds, if any, are handled per our Refund Policy and subject to processor rules.

8. Virtual Goods & Digital Assets

Purchases of virtual items or digital assets (including stickers, badges, awards, and similar items) are final and non-refundable, have no intrinsic monetary value, and are not redeemable or exchangeable for cash or physical goods. TiwaVerse may modify, suspend, or discontinue virtual items at any time.

9. Tipping & Commerce

Where enabled, users may support creators or purchase goods/services from other users (e.g., via TiwaMart). Such transactions are processed by third-party payment providers and may be subject to their terms and compliance checks. Unless expressly stated, TiwaVerse does not act as a seller, broker, escrow, or agent, and does not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or delivery of user-listed items. Use your judgment and report suspicious activity.

10. TiwaPoints (Rewards) — Monthly Payouts

TiwaPoints is our engagement-based rewards program. Users may earn TiwaPoints through eligible in-app activities (e.g., content creation and engagement) as determined by TiwaVerse. TiwaPoints do not represent legal tender, stored value, or electronic money. They are loyalty points that may be considered for conversion into a cash reward during a scheduled payout cycle.

  • Conversion & Payout: On a monthly basis, TiwaVerse may convert accrued TiwaPoints into a naira-denominated reward (point-to-naira rate set by TiwaVerse in its discretion) and disburse payouts to the user’s linked Nigerian bank account.
  • Discretion & Conditions: Earning and payout are discretionary, may vary by activity quality, anti-fraud checks, eligibility, and availability of a monthly rewards pool. TiwaVerse may adjust, delay, withhold, or decline payouts for suspected abuse, policy violations, or legal/compliance reasons.
  • No Employment Relationship: Participation in TiwaPoints does not create employment, partnership, or agency. No minimum earnings are guaranteed.
  • Compliance: We may require identity/KYC verification and impose minimum thresholds, frequency limits, or other conditions for redemption and payout.
  • Taxes: You are responsible for any applicable taxes on rewards received.

11. No Wallet / No Stored Value

TiwaVerse is not a bank, e-money issuer, money transmitter, or remittance provider. The Platform does not offer custodial wallets or permit users to store funds as a balance for later use. All money movement occurs via licensed third-party payment processors under their terms.

12. International Users

If you access TiwaVerse from outside Nigeria, you are responsible for compliance with local laws. Certain features (including payment methods, bill pay, or payouts) may be limited or unavailable in some regions. International payments processed via Stripe may be subject to UK/EU financial regulations and processor policies.

13. Third-Party Terms

By using payment features, you also agree to the applicable terms and policies of our payment partners (including Stripe and Flutterwave). TiwaVerse is not liable for delays, chargebacks, holds, FX differences, payout timelines, or service interruptions attributable to third-party providers.

14. Termination

You may delete your account at any time (subject to applicable data retention and legal requirements). We may suspend or terminate accounts, remove content, or restrict features for violations of these Terms, illegal activity, or to comply with law or third-party provider requirements. We may preserve information as required by law or to investigate violations.

15. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, nor that the Platform will meet your requirements. To the fullest extent permitted by law, TiwaVerse disclaims all warranties, express or implied, regarding the Platform and services.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TiwaVerse will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of the Platform. Our aggregate liability will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid to TiwaVerse for the service giving rise to the claim in the 3 months prior to the event or (b) ₦100,000.

17. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. For transactions processed through Stripe (UK), applicable UK/EU financial regulations may also apply. Venue for disputes will be in courts of competent jurisdiction in Nigeria, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights in your country of residence where applicable.

18. TiwaPredict — Free-to-Play Prediction Game

TiwaPredict is a FREE-TO-PLAY football prediction platform. It is NOT a gambling, betting, or wagering service. No money is required to participate, and there are no entry fees or stakes placed on match outcomes.

  • Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old to use TiwaPredict.
  • No Financial Risk: Participation is entirely free. You do not wager, stake, or risk any money on predictions.
  • Skill-Based: Points are earned based on prediction accuracy, knowledge, and strategic gameplay.
  • Discretionary Rewards: Top performers on leaderboards may receive discretionary rewards (e.g., cash prizes, vouchers, merchandise, recognition). Rewards are not guaranteed, have no fixed odds, and are subject to verification, anti-fraud checks, and compliance with these Terms.
  • KYC Requirement: Cash prize recipients must complete identity verification (KYC) and comply with applicable tax obligations. TiwaVerse reserves the right to withhold or disqualify rewards for suspected fraud, multiple accounts, or policy violations.
  • Fair Play: Users must maintain only one account. Automated prediction tools, collusion, result manipulation, or exploitation of bugs are strictly prohibited and will result in account suspension and disqualification from rewards.
  • No Gambling Classification: TiwaPredict is designed to comply with Nigerian gaming regulations as a free-to-play skill game. It does not constitute gambling under applicable law. However, users are responsible for compliance with local laws in their jurisdiction.
  • Game Rules: Predictions are subject to cycle deadlines, rate limits, and scoring rules as described in theHow to Play guide. TiwaVerse may modify game mechanics, scoring, or features at any time with notice.
  • Prediction Lock: Once a prediction cycle closes or a match begins, predictions are locked and cannot be edited. Missed deadlines result in forfeited participation for that cycle.
  • No Refunds: Since participation is free, no refunds or compensation are owed for gameplay, technical issues, or reward determinations.

By participating in TiwaPredict, you acknowledge and agree that it is a free entertainment platform, not a gambling service, and that all rewards are discretionary and subject to TiwaVerse's sole discretion and verification.

19. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the “Last Updated” date above and, where appropriate, by additional notice within the Platform. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
